In 1977 Mr Povl Frigast was told by a sailing friend that there was not a really nice yacht lamp available. Having just retired after a lifetime as a silversmith and designer Mr Frigast met the challenge and created the Frigast Cabin Lamp.

In August 1977 the first lamps were produced. During the years the Frigast Cabin Lamps found their way into fine yachts all over the world and became famous.
